Where do I sign up? Is it free?

There's no signup and it's completely free. Just install the extension and you can start using it right away.

What exactly does it record?

It records video of what you select — either a single tab, browser window, or your entire screen. If you select a single tab to record, that's all it can see.

It can also record audio from your microphone if you check the box to include audio.

It does not access your webcam or record video from your camera.

How does it work?

The extension uses your browser's MediaRecorder API to record your screen and save the videos as local .webm files.

Does this extension track my activity?

Nope! The extension makes no network requests and it has the minimum permissions it needs. It can only record your screen when you grant it permission to do so and your browser facilitates this — the prompt to share your screen and select a window is created by your browser. You have to grant access each time the extension wants to record.

Does it upload anything to the cloud?

Nope! The recordings are saved to the Downloads folder on your computer. That's it.

If you'd like to upload these recordings and share them, you certainly may use a third party to do so. We don't store or host your recordings at all so you're completely in control of what gets shared and how.
